Banned energy drink Prime popularized by TikTok: 'More caffeine than allowed'

The Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority is concerned about the popularity of the banned energy drink Prime among young people. The drink is supposedly healthier because it's sugar-free and low in calories, but it also contains 2.5 times more caffeine than permitted in the Netherlands. The sale of the Prime energy drink (in cans) is no longer permitted in the Netherlands, but only bottles containing the hydrating version are still permitted. Candyestival no longer sells the Prime drinks.

Candyfestival was recently interviewed by EditieNL about Prime drinks and the ongoing hype on TikTok. You can watch the full segment here .

Prime is the energy drink created by influencers Logan Paul and KSI. The YouTube stars launched the drink a few months ago. Prime quickly went viral on TikTok.
