Licorice lovers can rejoice: the iconic licorice stick is back! Candyfestival is now launching Strekdrop – the reissue of the beloved candy that Haribo pulled from shelves in 2020. The original flavor and experience are now available again, exclusively at Candyfestival.nl .

Trekdrop – now relaunched as Strekdrop – is now exclusively available online at Candyfestival.nl and is delivered throughout the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany.

What is licorice?

Trekdrop, now Strekdrop, is a long, elastic strand of soft licorice. You can pull the candy apart before eating it, creating a playful and nostalgic treat. The deep licorice flavor and unique texture have made it a favorite with young and old for years.

Why did licorice disappear?

In 2020, Haribo stopped producing licorice because the machine broke down and couldn't be repaired. Unfortunately, the costs were too high compared to the revenue, so they decided to stop production. With that, a piece of Dutch confectionery heritage disappeared – until now.

Why is it coming back now?

Candyfestival felt that Trekdrop deserved a second chance. After months of searching for the right producer and the original recipe, we're bringing the candy back under the new name Strekdrop. The taste and texture are the same as always, only the name is different due to trademark rights. Candyfestival is the first online store to offer Trekdrop again.
